Spring 2021 Library Updates
For the first two weeks of the semester, the buildings are closed and all services are remote.
Beginning February 15th, the hours are as follows (access is via card-swipe):

Fri: 8:00am - 8:00pm
Sat: 10:00am - 2:00pm
Sun: 12:00noon - 11:00pm

The 2nd floor of Crumb Library is closed.
Access to materials in both Crane and Crumb Libraries will be mediated through our
with requested material retrieved by library staff. Students, faculty and staff can use Library Materials Pickup (LaMP) service BearCat, our catalog to locate items they want and then submit a request for materials they would like to check out (see LaMP instructions here). Please . This service PLAN AHEAD , so please look for resources well in advance of needing them. takes time If we do not own the book you're looking for, you can request books from across the SUNY system via our
Resource Sharing service. Our
Inter Library Loan service is currently limited to Articles and Book Chapters. There are no reserves or textbook collections available this spring as we are unable to do short-term loans. Loaner laptops are also
not available, however... Desktop computing and printing
are still available at both libraries but with reduced capacity. Library access, services and materials are currently limited to SUNY Potsdam students, faculty, and staff.

Crane Library Specific Details
Crane library is closed through Feb 14th and will reopen on Feb. 15th at 10:00am.
Questions and special requests for materials may be directed at any time to the Crane Librarian Edward Komara (email: firstname.lastname@example.org)
Library staff will retrieve Crane materials for borrowing. Use our
LaMP service to submit requests.
Returns may be made at the Crane Library drop box on the Schuette Hall plaza, or to the book return slot at the Lougheed Learning Commons (Satterlee side- built into the angled brick wall).
Returned items are held for 7 days before they may be re-used. We will keep returns on marked carts for 7 days before releasing them, so returned materials will NOT be immediately available..

Crumb Library Specific Details
The Lougheed Learning Commons and Crumb Library are physically closed for the first 2 weeks of the Spring 2021 semester. The building will reopen on Feb. 15th at 8:00am.

Inter-library Loan for articles and book chapters from a broader spectrum of libraries is also available.
Returns may be made at the outside permanent book return flap/chute built into the angled wall on the Satterlee side of the Lougheed Learning Commons or at the bins inside the lobby.

Returned items are quarantined for 7 days before being reshelved, so returned materials will NOT be immediately available.
