Textbooks - Student Information: Find Your Textbook

Provide information for students to explain our textbook collection on reserve.

Textbooks: Search BearCat (Library Catalog)

The easiest way to find out if we have your textbook is by searching our catalog by the Title and Last Name of the Author of the book.  This method will find what we have on our regular shelves or placed on reserve (at the circulation desk) by your faculty.  If it is in the regular book stacks, you may check it out as a regular book.  If you find that it is in the reserve collection, then it may be used in the library for 3 hours at a time to facilitate sharing by all students in the class.

Please note that we DO NOT HAVE ALL TEXTBOOKS!

If we do not own the textbook for your class, you can:

  1. Request that your faculty place a copy (if they have one) on reserve.  This will benefit the whole class.
  2. Purchase/Rent it yourself
  3. Attempt to borrow it through Resource Sharing or InterLibrary Loan.  Please note that this will not work for traditional textbooks (libraries don't loan them out to users outside their own patron base), but may work for things like works of literature or trade publications.  Loan lengths are set by the lending library and may not last the full semester.
