The American Library Association's (ALA) Office of Intellectual Freedom has annual lists of books that have been challenged and/or banned. In 2022, the ALA documented 1,269 demands to censor library books and resources. Of the 2,571 unique titles targeted for censorship, here are the most challenged, along with the reasons cited for censoring the books:
