Pre-start tasks for the library
Arrange for/Check on:
- All necessary accounts/logins
- Keys and Card Access to the building (work order submitted 12/9/24)
Parking pass (or do day 1)
Office readiness
- Computer (CTS ticket submitted 12/9/24)
- Phone (make sure it's in the directory along with office room number) (CTS ticket submitted 12/9/24)
Make appointment with Human Resources and send calendar invitation to new employee (HR visit concluded 12/9/24)
- Arrange with CTS to have new staff added to appropriate shared emails/calendars permissions
- Create label for office door (requested from JPR 12/9/24)
- Create a first week calendar and ensure appropriate staff have invited new employee so it shows on their calendar
Try to find fan/heater for office and get Potsdam travel mug :)
Know when new employee will arrive and arrange greeting
- Set up lunch invites for first day
- Schedule emails to deliver:
- staff contact sheet
- necessary policies and procedures (such as PRC policy, bad weather policy, etc)
- reminder for everyone to add new employee to distribution lists
- list of useful campus links for the new employee to bookmark
