New York Residents

Register to vote in New York!

Includes how to register in person (County Boards of Elections, Department of Motor Vehicle offices if you have DMV i.d., and many other state offices) and several online options.

Voting Absentee in NY

  • Deadlines - Absentee ballots must be requested by 10/27 (in person 11/2)  or postmarked by 10-27 (for most), and received by 11/3.
  • Absentee Ballot Electronic Portal
  • COVID-19: "temporary illness includes being unable to appear due to risk of contracting or spreading a communicable disease like COVID-19."
