Everything searches tend to be very big, since they search everything the library has access to (with the exception of newspapers). You can use the Tweek Your Results menu on the left of the screen to easily narrow your results down to the most relevant items.
1. To only get electronic resources, check the Available Online box and click Apply Filters. You can instantly access an online resource by clicking the Read Online or Available Online links under the item's catalog entry.
2. Enter a date range into Publication Date fields to limit yourself to current items, select only the type of resource you want (books, academic journal articles, magazine articles, etc.) in the Format menu, and focus your results only on the subject(s) you're researching in the Subject menu.
Remember that an Everything search does not include newspapers. To search the library's newspaper databases, including the New York Times, either click the Newspapers link at the top of the screen or, if you've already done your search, select Newspapers search under the Format menu.
