Big research projects can seem overwhelming, and sometimes getting started is the hardest part. Take on your research in smaller steps to avoid the paralysis that comes from being overwhelmed by the big picture. At the beginning of the semester, sit down and create a timeline for getting each piece done so that you're not stuck at the end. Start by talking with people about potential topics early on to get your brain going. Then ask a librarian where you can find some good resources. Those simple initial steps can jumpstart the process and get you going.
