Institutional History
SUNY Potsdam established a Reading Center as a part of the School of Education in the early 1970s. In 2002 the center received major renovations made possible by a donation from Rebecca Sheard (Potsdam Normal School class of 1916). Upon completion of the renovations the center became known as the Rebecca Sheard Literacy Center.

The collection contains materials related to the 2002 Dedication Ceremony for the Rebecca Sheard Literacy Center.
